Volusia County Schools is piloting a new communication tool for University High parents: text messaging.  It is a one-way text messaging feature from the school to the cell phone number indicated on your child’s Emergency Information Card.

 

On April 6, parents will receive a Connect 5 phone call from the school indicating an introductory text message will be sent to the cell phone number listed on each child’s emergency card.  The text message will be sent at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, and will read:

 

“VolusiaCountySchools: You are set to receive txt alerts per acct settings. For more info reply ‘HELP.’  To opt out reply ‘STOP VCS’ Msg&data rates may apply.”

 

  • If you want to continue receiving text messages, no action is necessary.   

 

  • If you do not wish to receive text messages, simply reply STOP VCS and your number will no longer receive text messages. 

 

  • If you do not receive the text message and would like to, please call the school so that we can add your number.
